What is the latest update from ESM Active about Paid Clubs?

ESM Active activities will commence from Monday 31 January until Friday 26 March 2022 for Term 2. A total of 8 weeks of exciting activities awaits! We know that some parents have had some queries regarding the missed weeks, but ESM has made some provisions in order to make up for the lost time. Term 2 was initially 10 weeks. With the loss of the initial 4 weeks, ESM is now extending the date to include the Week Without Walls (week of 07 February), which was initially excluded and the last week of term (week of March 21).

Once the programme commences, ESM will start calculating and processing the credit notes for parents who signed up at the start and missed weeks. The credits will be reflected in your ESMActive wallet for you to use at a later stage, either for a new activity this term or for next term. The credit can also be redeemed for any other activity, including ESM Camps, music lessons, etc., via the ESMActive platform. All students who sign up now will only be charged for the remaining weeks. Thank you to everyone for your patience while we navigate the current KHDA guidelines and protocols. If you need any clarification, please contact Mr. Faizel Simon, faizel@esm.ae / +971 4 3697817 who will review case by case.

We are not liable to guarantee your child a place on the activity if they are booked with less than 24 hours to go to the class and they will be added to the register for the following week. For more information, please email Jasmin at jasmin@esm.ae

DASSA Sports- This week we enjoyed the camaraderie and adrenalin rush that sport provides as our DASSA competitive fixtures returned. Over 150 students represented our Academy in Football, Basketball and Netball across our Primary and Secondary divisions.

We continue to operate within a set of guidelines from DASSA and KHDA but we do see this as a significant step in moving closer to a ‘new normal’. It has been vital to have this support to ensure our young people benefit from the positive impact that good quality physical activities and competitions can bring to our students’ wellbeing. Being part of a team – whether a traditional sport such as football or as a representative for our Academy in a competition – gives our students that much needed sense of belonging to our community.

As part of the DASSA Sports organization, we use an online communication system called SOCS. It provides sports fixtures and results information.

Our Term 1 sports fixture information can be viewed here:

As per the latest KHDA Back to School Guidelines #TogetherAgainDubai, our Enrichments can take place on campus. This is wonderful news and we look forward to taking a step closer to a more normal experience in our Enrichment Programmes. This will however have an impact on the numbers permitted to attend each club, depending on the club; numbers will be capped to ensure social distancing and covid protocols. The number allowed in each club is indicated on the schedules and club descriptions.
